Fun things to do in Santa Fe with kids

(This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure.)

Before I visited Santa Fe with my kids I always thought it was a place I'd want to visit without my kids. The whole vibe of the city seemed very adult-y. Art galleries. Shopping. Upscale dining with gorgeous views.

While Santa Fe has all those things, we managed to spend three days here with our two kids and found a ton of things to do.

There are lots of museums and culture and with the New Mexico Culture Pass, you can get a great deal on Santa Fe area attractions. To make it worth it you'd have to plan some fun elsewhere in the state, but it is a really cool state to explore.

I'll be 100 percent honest here: I can't get away with a full day of museums with my kids. There are a TON of museums in Santa Fe and I could have probably spent three days exploring those but my kids would have hated that. We did two with a play break in between and that was enough for us.

What we really loved was exploring Meow Wolf, hiking to check out the petroglyphs, and eating all the chilies. If you're a spicy food person, New Mexico is heaven.

We stayed at the Inn of the Governors in the heart of downtown Santa Fe. You can walk to a lot of restaurants and shops from here.
