Best blog posts of 2015
Are you relieved to see 2015 go or excited to see what 2016 is going to bring you? I think I’m a little bit of both. 2015 brought intense highs and crushing lows, a lot of stress, and a lot of honesty. If I had to pick a word that represents what I want 2016 to be it would be stability. And nurture…as in nurturing me. Okay, so that was more than one word.

I went into my blog analytics – that’s what counts how many visitors come to my site and what they’re reading – and picked my ten most clicked on posts from 2016. If you are a newer reader of my blog, these might be new to you…and if you’ve been around awhile, you might see one of your favorites on this list. At least I hope so. So here it is…my best blog posts of 2015:
How I got my running groove back in spite of S.U.I.
You know how it is: you get old and you pee when you sneeze, laugh or run. Or maybe you don’t know how it is but I’m here to tell you it’s no fun. Yeah, maybe it’s a little embarrassing to lay it out like this but I know this happens to a lot of women as they age or after they have kids.

Dear Farrah Abraham…
The “tooth fairy” gave Teen Mom Farrah’s daughter $600 because she had low self-esteem and I had a few things to say about that.

10 Things that surprised me about adoption
Most of these things have nothing to do with adoption. I belong to a linkup called “Adoption Talk.” We gather online twice a month and link up our blogs. We have a topic schedule, so if you’re an adoption blogger, definitely come and join up with us in 2016. I’m excited to start our second year together.

What you need to know about post-adoption depression
Yes, it’s really a thing. This originally appeared on my blog but I’m linking to the version that appeared on the Huffington Post. Some of the commenters were pretty unkind and I don’t showcase this to make a “people are assholes” point but to show how little this is understood.

I will rule the world in my yoga pants
This post is silly but I had fun writing it. And because the whole Veronica Partirdge “yoga pants are enticing so I’ll just wear these form-fitting skinny jeans instead” is so ridiculous.

Why our kids don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
I'm not a holiday hater but I have enough glitter and mythical creatures in my life.

An open letter to my sons about peeing in the toilet
Because no one likes that “boy bathroom” smell…and on a side note, I know this post is responsible for some of the really weird search terms that people use to find my blog!
