Christmas Snack Mix – Your last-minute gift solution

(This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure.)

I have finally come to terms with the fact that I'm not that organized mom who buys Christmas gifts in September and makes a chart of where all of the holiday displays in town are. I am so not that mom. But, I have an awesome Christmas snack mix recipe that's easy to throw together at the last minute. In case you're the last-minute kind of mom. Ahem.

Christmas Snack Mix Recipe (AKA Reindeer Feed)

I'm the mom who realizes that she has to make Christmas dinner five days before Christmas and panics because she can't find a parking space at the grocery store. I'm the mom who is frantically Amazon prime-ing until the eleventh hour because all of the presents I buy fall into that “last-minute gift” category. I'm the mom who spends more time crafting plausible excuses on why the Christmas gifts will be late than I spend doing actual Christmas shopping.

I don't pride myself on being cute and crafty but here's one thing I've mastered: Christmas snack mix recipe AKA Christmas trail mix.

If you're anything like me, you're looking for a last-minute gift for someone – a teacher, a neighbor, or whoever else you straight-up forgot. I may be the most disorganized person on the planet, but I have something that might bail you out and it's cute and easy: Christmas snack mix. It's even (mostly) nutritious.

This Christmas snack mix/Christmas trail mix – we like to call it Reindeer Feed is a simple treat to put together and, if you've got the supplies on hand to make these canvas bags, even better. If you don't, you can throw it into a mason jar or any other container you might have on hand. Ziplock baggies work, too. If you don't have the time or desire to get fancy, don't sweat it.

This Christmas snack mix is also an easy, fun treat for kids to make that doesn't require using the stove. You can set the supplies out at a table and let the kids go to town without having them underfoot in your kitchen. This makes a great activity for a large group of kids, such as a scout troop or Sunday school class.

I find mixing with my hands is the best. If you've got a large group or want to keep it more sanitary, use latex gloves. These kids sized gloves are perfect for activities like this as well as art projects.
