Join me for an afternoon with Chef Anthony Lamas

I adore my children but I'm excited at the prospect of a grownup afternoon doing grownup things. On November 11th – that's right, this Saturday – I'll be joining Chef Anthony Lamas at Macy's in the Domain in Austin at 2 p.m. My small humans will not be in attendance and I'm pretty sure we won't be having chicken nuggets or juiceboxes, so I'm ridiculously excited about this.

I'm a foodie and a pretty adventerous eater but I have two seven-year-old boys who have the palate of…well, two seven-year-old boys.

I'm stoked for Chef Lamas' cooking demo at Macys. This is a part of Macy's Culinary Council Cooking Event. I don't know about you, but that sounds like a pretty fine way to spend the afternoon to me.

Chef Lamas will be sharing stories (and really, aren't some of the best stories told in the kitchen?) and demonstrating some of his best-kept culinary secrets and techniques on how to prepare some of his award-winning dishes. I am a pretty fair cook and I'm excited for the opportunities to learn from a pro.

So, who is coming with me?

This event is open to the public, so if you're going to be in Austin on November 11th at 2 p.m., come on down. We'll watch Chef Lamas' cooking demo. We'll enjoy food and drinks and check out some cool kitchen equipment at Macy's.

Kitchen equipment is my weakness, man. That, and shoes.

If you make a purchase of $35 or more from the Macy's Home Department, you will receive a copy of Chef Anthony Lamas' cookbook, Southern Heat, which he can sign for you at the event.

Who is in?

If you'd like to RSVP, click this link. You can register with your Eventbrite account. It's free and super easy.

As if this could get even better, you will receive a $10 Macy's gift card (valid on November 11th 2017 at Macy's The Domain only.)

In addition to meeting Chef Anthony Lamas and getting my copy of his cookbook, Southern Heat, I'm hoping to pick up some tips to inject a little somethin' somethin' into my Thanksgiving meal. I cook for my family each year and I do it all myself. My husband helps with the bird but all of the sides, deserts, wine pairings and table decorations? All me. I know I'll learn something that will change up my dinner, which is always fun.

And, maybe do a little shopping. The kitchen equipment is fun but I think I hear the shoe department calling my name, too.

Come join me!

And, if you don't live in or near Austin and know someone who does? Share this with them!
